Guangdong interior painting is a kind of traditional arts and crafts. It uses the composition, ink and color techniques of Chinese painting to draw on the inner wall of glass bottle with backhand, forming a unique artistic spectacle. Shantou is the central city of eastern Guangdong, known as "Zou Lu on the seashore", with profound cultural heritage. The art of interior painting spread in Shantou is the only representative of traditional Chinese interior painting "Yue school", whose founder is the late master of Chinese arts and crafts Wu Songling.

Guangdong's interior painting has become a school of its own by virtue of its unique glass bottle shape, decorative effect of gold and color on the outside of the bottle, painting and color setting skills and painting tools. Under the influence of Lingnan School, Guangdong's interior paintings have fine lines, rich colors and rich contents. They are characterized by mountains and rivers, birds and animals, ancient and modern figures and exotic flowers on the inner wall of the vase, winning the reputation of "peculiar painting art".

Wu Songling and his son Wu zekun successively trained 35 artists of interior painting in Shantou Institute of Arts and crafts (later changed to "special arts and crafts factory"), so that this unique skill can be inherited. Guangdong interior painting is the crystallization of the wisdom of folk artists. It is all handmade, with distinctive artistic characteristics and strong local style. It provides a unique case for the study of the history of Arts and crafts and Lingnan Painting. Now the master has passed away, and the craftsmen who inherit the production skills are all over 50 years old. Guangdong interior painting is facing the situation of no successor, and the prospect is worrying.
