Brief introduction of Taige (Tonghai high platform)
Applicant: Tonghai County, Yunnan Province
Tonghai high platform is a kind of performance form of raising Pavilion in the traditional festival folk activities of Tonghai County, Yunnan Province.
During the Ming and Qing Dynasties, the immigrants from the military garrison spread the "raise Pavilion" and "float color" of Guangdong, Fujian and other provinces to Yunnan. According to the tablet of Gaotai meeting, which was established on April 27, 1842, the Qianlong reign of the Qing Dynasty, the yinggaotai of Tonghai and Hexi counties rose in the Qianlong reign of the Qing Dynasty. It started from Qijie (now Tonghai County town) and spread to Hexi City, Tonghai city and other villages. During the reign of Jiaqing and Daoguang in the Qing Dynasty, Qijie, Tonghai County, Hexi County, Sijie and Yangguang (today's Tonghai County town) successively established the "Gaotai meeting", which has been handed down to the present.
Gaotai parade is usually held on the 16th of the first lunar month, which is called "welcome" Gaotai. There are 12 in general year and 13 in leap year.
The difficulty of making high platform is not to show "muscles and bones". The so-called "muscle" refers to the iron pole supporting the whole stage. To be natural and seamless is the unique skill of Gaotai artists.
High stage is a mobile stage, and a high stage is a play. Selected and trained four to five-year-old children dress up in various roles, most of which are drama stories. The tour is accompanied by percussion music, donkey lantern, dragon lantern and other folk performances.
The project is of great significance for inheriting the fine traditions of the Chinese nation and enhancing the cohesion of the community. It also has the research value of folklore, art and history.
