Takuzui drum is a form of folk art banter performed in Minnan language, which is popular in Minnan region of Fujian Province, Taiwan Province and Southeast Asia. It is similar to Xiangsheng, but the dialogue is a strict rhyme of rhyme. It has a strong sense of language rhythm, and is good at using colorful, lively, witty words and slang in Minnan dialect. It pays attention to the display of plot and characterization, and pays attention to the use of "baobaoer" and "weidengxiaoke" (hilarious material) to obtain comic effect. In June 1991, Yilan, Taiwan held the "first competition of Taiwan's Tamsui drum", which promoted the improvement of the artistic level of Taiwan's Tamsui drum. Lin Pengxiang's talk drum program has been spread to all over the world through various media. It has also aroused strong repercussions overseas, and has become a valuable material for overseas experts and scholars to study the folk customs and vocabulary of Fujian and Taiwan.

However, with the development of modernization, there are fewer and fewer people, especially young people and foreigners, who can fully listen to Minnan dialect. The activity space of takuzui drum is increasingly narrow, and the age of creative performers and audience groups is generally aging. With the death of the older generation of artists such as Lin Pengxiang, there has been a phenomenon that the inheritance of Dazui drum art has been lost. This form of folk art is facing a serious crisis of losing generations, and it needs to be rescued and protected.
