A brief introduction to the pavilion raising (Changle Pavilion raising story meeting)
Applicant: Miluo City, Hunan Province
The pavilion raising story meeting is a form of Pavilion raising performance preserved in the traditional festivals and folk activities in Changle Town, Miluo City, Hunan Province. The story of Changle Pavilion began in the Sui and Tang Dynasties and flourished in the Ming and Qing Dynasties.
From the first day of the first lunar month to the Lantern Festival, Changle people spontaneously divided into two groups, Shichang street and Xiashi street, to hold a story competition. The contents of the stories are mostly loyalty stories and folk legends, which are divided into four categories: local stories, platform stories, high color stories and stilt stories. They are also divided into Shangshi Street story fair and Xiashi Street story fair. During the parade performance, the story fair is accompanied by flags, colored flags, plaques, colored lanterns, gongs and drums, bands, and other folk entertainment teams, such as playing colorful dragon, dancing fire dragon, dancing lion, colorful lotus boat, waist drum and so on There is a big crowd in the street.
The members of each story club are organized spontaneously, without any compensation, and the funds are raised by themselves.
The project is of great significance for inheriting the fine tradition of the Chinese nation, enriching the cultural life of the masses and building a harmonious society.
