Introduction to the processing technology of traditional Chinese medicine (planting and processing of four Huai herbs)
Applicant: Jiaozuo City, Henan Province
Traditional Chinese medicine comes from plants, animals and minerals in nature. There are 12807 kinds of traditional Chinese medicine resources in China, but the clinical application of traditional Chinese medicine and the production of patent medicine generally do not use crude drugs, but use processed mature products, namely decoction pieces.
According to the theory of traditional Chinese medicine, different requirements of medical treatment, dispensing and storage, as well as the nature of the medicinal materials, the processing of traditional Chinese medicine is a special technology for processing crude drugs by using the methods of repairing, water making, fire making and adding excipients. It can be traced back to the cultivation, collection or feeding of medicinal materials, among which the methods of frying, roasting, scalding, calcining, simmering and fire making are the most commonly used, so it is called "gun" "The system".
The purpose of traditional Chinese medicine processing is to reduce or eliminate the toxicity and side effects of drugs, ease or change the nature of drugs, so as to improve the curative effect and facilitate the adjustment, storage and administration. The core of traditional Chinese medicine processing is to reduce toxicity and increase efficiency. Since ancient times, the traditional Chinese medicine industry has accumulated a lot of experience in the processing of traditional Chinese medicine, summed up a complete set of theories, invented many technologies, formed many schools, compiled a large number of works, and the processing technology of traditional Chinese medicine has become one of the important contents of traditional Chinese medicine.
It has been nearly 3000 years since Dioscorea opposita, Rehmannia glutinosa, chrysanthemum and Achyranthes bidentata were planted in Jiaozuo area of Henan Province. Because Jiaozuo City of Henan Province was under the jurisdiction of Huaiqing Prefecture in ancient times, Dioscorea opposita, Rehmannia glutinosa, chrysanthemum and Achyranthes bidentata were collectively referred to as "four major Huai herbs".
There are strict requirements for the cultivation of the four Huaiyao, including breeding, site selection, soil preparation, seedling raising, fertilization, pest control, etc. the processing of the medicinal materials also has strict traditional technology standards. The nine steaming and nine sun drying of huaidihuang, and the repeated soaking and fumigation, air drying and rubbing of HuaiYam make the medicinal materials have superior quality. During the Ming and Qing Dynasties, the rise of Huaiyao merchants greatly promoted the standardization of Huaiyao processing and the formation of Huaiyao cultural brand, making the four Huaiyao become the first authentic medicinal materials in Henan. In Liuwei Dihuang pills, the proportion of Huai Dihuang and Huai yam accounts for 48%, and the cultural customs produced by Huai medicine also widely affect the production and life of local people.
In recent years, due to some farmers' one-sided pursuit of Huaiyao yield, reducing unit cost to enhance price competitiveness, abandoning traditional planting and processing techniques and introducing foreign seeds and seedlings at will, the original quality of the four Huaiyao is distorted. The real traditional planting and processing techniques have been seriously impacted, and need to be further excavated, protected and inherited.
