Brief introduction of Ru porcelain firing technique:
Applicant: Ruzhou City, Henan Province
Ru porcelain is the first of the five famous kilns in Song Dynasty in China. Its firing techniques include embryo making technique, glaze matching technique, firing technique and opening technique. Ruzhou is known as "hundred mile coal sea". It is rich in kaolin, agate, clay and other raw materials for porcelain making, which provides unique natural conditions for the emergence, development, maturity and prosperity of Ru porcelain firing techniques.
Ru porcelain firing technology has a long history, with a history of more than 1000 years. The traditional firing technique of Ru porcelain requires the use of agate into the glaze. The glaze pigment is quiet and elegant. It has the typical characteristics of green as the sky, jade as the surface, milk as the quality, and the sound as the chime. The firing is very difficult, the rate of finished products is low, and there are few high-quality products. In particular, it is appreciated by Huizong of the Northern Song Dynasty. It has become a Royal Porcelain specially fired for the court. After the invasion of the Central Plains, the Song Dynasty moved to the south, resulting in the disappearance of the Royal Ru porcelain. In the Southern Song Dynasty, there was a sigh that "it's very rare to be near", and there are few products handed down from generation to generation.
The firing process of Ru porcelain is highly technical, difficult and complicated. The overlapping firing technique of one pot and one device is adopted. The main links include material selection, mud refining, blank making, plain firing, glaze making, glaze application and firing. Ruzhou Ru porcelain firing season, weather, autumn is the best season for Ru porcelain firing.
In the process of firing, how to grasp the viscosity and fluidity of glaze, the melting temperature and the crystallization process of heat preservation have a direct impact on the formation of Ru celadon beads and the quality of celadon glaze. This unique firing technique has no specific physical and chemical indicators. It depends on the understanding, eye view and hand feeling of the technicians, and it is handed down from generation to generation by teachers and apprentices in the production process .
