Brief introduction of silk weaving technology (jilihu silk handmade Technology)
Applicant: Nanxun District, Huzhou City, Zhejiang Province
Jilihusi, also known as "Jilisi", got its name from Jili village, Nanxun Town, Huzhou City. Jili village has been producing Lake silk since it became a village at the end of the Yuan Dynasty. There is a Ming Dynasty historical data book: "the benefits of sericulture in the world are no better than lakes, and Nanxun is the first county in a county."
The production techniques of jilihu silk, centered on Jili village, are mainly distributed in the rural areas of Lianshi, Shanlian and Shuanglin. Since the advent of mechanized silk reeling, the traditional manual silk reeling in the rural areas of Nanxun began to disappear in the late 1950s.
The silkworm seed of jilihu silk is self bred "Lianxin seed", also known as "Hu silkworm". It has excellent varieties and is especially suitable for reeling high-quality mulberry silk. The silk reeling car used for silk reeling is a wooden sanxu silk reeling car, which is called "Lake silk making car" in history. The traditional technological process mainly includes: building "Silk stove" (stove specially built for silk reeling) - boiling water - cocoon cooking - fishing head (also known as "Suo Xu") - winding nest (also known as "Tian Xu") - winding shaft - carbon fire drying (also known as "water drying") and so on. The making skills of jilihu silk are generally handed down from generation to generation by family members, especially women.
The quality of Jili silk is "fine and uniform, rich in tension, soft and smooth in body, and white in color". Compared with ordinary native silk, the quality of Jili silk has two more copper tins. Jilisi is famous all over the world and has become the synonym of high quality silk in China and even the world. In the Qing Dynasty, local weaving bureaus went to Nanxun every year to purchase raw silk. In 1851, Xu rongcun, a businessman from Shanghai, won the gold and silver prizes in the first World Expo held in London.
In order to protect this traditional skill, the village committee of Jili village set up a "traditional manual silk reeling workshop" in the village. The Cultural Department of Nanxun district has also built a "exhibition hall of jilihu silk traditional handmade skills" in Nanxun ancient town to show the charm of its traditional skills to tourists at home and abroad.
