Beijing Zhayan kite is an important school of Beijing kites, which is shaped by swallows and has strong humanistic connotation.

As Beijing Zhayan kite, the kite works of the Qing Dynasty, such as South kite and North kite kaogong Zhi, provide rich image aesthetics, integrate literary features and deepen its connotation. On the basis of inheriting the predecessors, Fei Baoling studied and collated the "South kite and North kite kaogong Zhi" in the 1960s, and comprehensively mastered the making skills of Zhayan kites. In 1973, Fei Baoling's works began to be exhibited all over the country, which was recognized by experts from all walks of life and became the most representative inheritor of Beijing Zhayan kite.

Beijing Zhayan kite making skills are divided into: Zhayan, paste, draw, fly four arts, the production of the kite color bright, eye-catching lines, both good up and good fly. Each kind of Beijing Zhayan kites has a skeleton drawing, a color drawing, and is equipped with Zhayan Jue and painting Jue. It has both pictures and texts. It is the most distinctive kite school in Beijing.

Fei Baoling as the main inheritor of Beijing Zhayan kite craft, the swallow works of which are patterned, anthropomorphic, both form and spirit, constitute a series of works full of personality and emotion. As works of art, 97 works produced by Fei Baoling are collected by the China Art Museum. The first set of kite special stamps issued in China is the Beijing Zhayan kite drawn by Fei Baoling.
