Wenkai Academy

Wenkai academy is located in Lukang, Taiwan (now Changhua). It is also called Wenwu temple. It is also called Wenci for short. It is also the birthplace of Lukang culture and education. This combination of academies, ancestral temples and temples is very rare. In 1824, Tang Chuanan led the gentry to build it, which was completed in seven years. In order to emulate the spirit of Shen Guangwen, a great scholar living in Taiwan in the late Ming Dynasty, he was named after Shen Guangwen. Deng Zhuan narrates the whole story. After the Japanese occupation of Taiwan, they were forced to suspend school, lost their books, and their institutions became increasingly dilapidated. It was renovated and newly built in 1984. Wen temple is dedicated to the emperor Wenchang, and it once established the earliest poetry society "Ba society" in Lukang; Wu Temple is dedicated to the emperor Guansheng, and the incense is very popular.

Wenkai Academy was initiated by Deng Chuanan, the North Road Lipan and Lugang coastal defense Tongzhi, in 1824 of the Qing Dynasty. It was sponsored by Lin Wenjun, the son of Lin Zhensong, the master of local rich gentry Shimao.
