Sanming Longqi Mountain

Longqishan nature reserve is the southeast extension of Wuyi Mountains, named after the ancient Chuanlong. Longqishan nature reserve is located at the junction of Jiangle and Mingxi counties in Northwest Fujian, covering an area of 63.85 square kilometers. It is a provincial nature reserve in Fujian Province. The reserve has high mountains, dense forests, towering ancient trees and long flowing beautiful waters. The main peak in Jiangle County is 1624 meters high. There are 5 side peaks, all above 1500 meters above sea level. Longqishan nature reserve, with nearly 60000 mu of virgin forest, is a rare and unique natural botanical garden in China. There are 7 vegetation types, 24 clusters, more than 130 families, nearly 300 tree species, including Taxus chinensis var. mairei, Cryptomeria fortunei, Pinus thunbergii, cypress, Michelia, auspicious grass, Begonia, camellia and other exotic flowers. It is also an animal kingdom. There are more than 100 kinds of rare animals, such as tigers, leopards, bears, monkeys, antelopes, flying beavers, giant salamanders and so on. In May 1989, Longqishan Nature Reserve Management Office was established. While protecting the natural resources, Longqi Mountain is developing into a tourist and summer resort. It is a good place to return to nature, recuperate and explore scientifically.
