Wuyi Rock Tea (Dahongpao)
Applicant: Wuyishan City, Fujian Province
Wuyishan City, located in the northwest of Fujian Province, has the titles of "world cultural and natural heritage" and the only "hometown of Chinese tea art" awarded by the Ministry of culture. It is the hometown of rock tea.
The production of Wuyi rock tea can be traced back to the Han Dynasty. Through the development and evolution of the Han Dynasty, the perfect technology of rock tea production appeared in the early Qing Dynasty, which was the first time to make oolong tea. Wuyi Rock Tea (Dahongpao) unique "rock bone flower fragrance" is created by Wuyi Mountain's unique ecological environment, climate conditions and exquisite traditional production techniques. Its traditional production process has a total of 10 processes, which are closely linked and indispensable. Among them, the key to the quality of tea is "compound withering", "see green do green, see big do green", "walk water back to Yang", "double stir frying and double kneading" ”And "low temperature and long time drying".
Wuyishan is the birthplace of black tea and oolong tea. The tea custom accompanied by Wuyishan rock tea making skills has strong local characteristics. The customs of mountain shouting, tea contest and tea art enjoy both refined and popular tastes and have a broad mass base.
The State Technical Supervision Department has approved Wuyi rock tea as a product of origin protection, and the state trademark administration has also approved the use of the trademark "Wuyishan Dahongpao". However, driven by the interests of the market economy and the impact of mechanical production technology, as well as the old artists neglect to pass on their skills, the traditional rock tea production technology shows signs of being endangered, which is in urgent need of protection.
