Brief introduction of lantern (Luoyang palace lantern)
Applicant: Luoyang City, Henan Province
Luoyang City, Henan Province, is a famous ancient capital of China. The lantern art spread here first originated in the palace, and then gradually spread to the folk, forming elegant palace lantern art. The combination of palace culture and folk culture makes Luoyang palace lantern more extensive, and its types and styles are more abundant than ordinary lanterns. In addition to palace lantern in strict sense, gauze lantern and other lanterns reflecting different folk customs are also included in the system of Luoyang palace lantern.
As an old type of palace lantern, the round gauze lantern is the main product of Luoyang palace lantern. It is made of bamboo from Luoning County. It is pasted with silk and decorated with words or patterns. The shape of the lamp can keep its original appearance for a long time, and the skeleton can be opened or closed, which is suitable for collection. Luoyang palace lantern production generally needs more than 70 processes, and the process is very exquisite. In the past, there were many lantern makers in Luoyang, including Du, Li, Wang and so on. At present, most of them have declined, and only the Wang family has descendants. If protection measures are not taken in time, Luoyang palace lantern, a folk art flower with rich historical and cultural connotation, will be unable to avoid the fate of withering rapidly.
