Applicant: Xiangyuan County, Shanxi Province
Xiangyuan Gushu (short for Gushu), commonly known as "Shuoshu" and "pedal Bang", is mainly popular in Xiangyuan county and its surrounding counties in Southeast Shanxi Province, as well as Yangquan and Lingchuan. It was formed in the late Ming and early Qing Dynasty, and developed in the middle of Qing Dynasty. It has a history of more than 300 years.
Xiangyuan Gushu is composed of one person, two or more people holding drums, boards, gongs, cymbals and two, Erhuang, Huhu, Yueqin, Sanxian, Bajiao, erhu, dizi, Sheng and other musical instruments. It is accompanied by its own rap performance. Its singing has many forms, such as solo, rota, duet, lead, chorus, accompaniment and so on. Some skilled drummers (drummers holding boards) can play a full set of percussion instruments, such as flat drum, hanging board, foot Gong, small Gong, boring Gong, foot bang, wooden fish, cymbals, cymbals, jingtangmu, etc.
Xiangyuan Gushu's singing music belongs to banqiang style, including fast, slow, stamping, snatching and other singing methods, as well as "qiban", "erxingban", "Jinban", "adagio", "Sanban" and other banquets, as well as some unique noisy tunes. In the long-term development, Xiangyuan Gushu absorbed the music elements of local ditty, Taoist Huayuan tune, folk peddler tune, Bangzi, Luozi, Yangko and so on. It was well received by the people. Its traditional repertoire includes more than 100 kinds, such as outlaws of the marsh, Three Kingdoms, Baogong, qiqiaoduan and jieqinji, which can be divided into history, Gongan, chivalrous and so on.
