Introduction to Tibetan folk song (bange Changlu)
Applicant: bange County, Tibet Autonomous Region
Bangor, which means "lucky protector" in Tibetan, gets its name from "bangoco (Lake)" in the territory. The superior geographical and cultural environment makes the Tibetans in this place have the innate ability to sing and dance. Song and dance became an indispensable part of their spiritual life, and Changlu (Grand Theft song) was a popular local folk song.
Changlu (chivalrous song) is one of the basic genres of folk songs in northern Tibet. The lyrics are mostly improvised, with a long history and rich connotations. The melody is free to stretch, the melody is loud and clear, the rhythm is free and long. The regular intensive rhythm in the statement part of the libretto forms a sharp contrast with the free extended sound in singing, which is dense and broad, regular and free. The frequent and diversified alternation of the two enriches the rhythm layout of the song and strengthens the expressive force of the song music. Changlu (chivalrous song) often appears at the beginning of the music, the highest tone of the whole song, full of emotion, preemptive, free to extend the tune to give people a special feeling. Some songs use falsetto or the combination of true and false voice because of their high range. Changlu (chivalrous robber song) is mainly spread in northern Tibet. It uses a lot of techniques such as Bixing and metaphor. Its language is quite characteristic and close to spoken language. Its works have a strong flavor of life.
