Brief introduction of Huaibei Bangzi Opera
Applicant: Fuyang City, Anhui Province
Huaibei Bangzi opera, formerly known as "Bangzi opera", is also known as "Shahe tune". It is one of the most influential operas in Anhui Province. It mainly spreads in Fuyang, Huaibei, Suxian, Bozhou, Bengbu, Huainan, Shenqiu, Shangqiu, Luohe and Xuzhou of Henan Province. It originated from Qin opera. After flowing into Fuyang, it absorbed popular folk songs and tunes such as zhuiziwu, Zaowang opera, Huaici, Budai opera and boatman Haozi. After long-term innovation and creation by artists, it was influenced by the local dialect of Northern Anhui, and gradually evolved into a drama with local characteristics of Northern Anhui.
The characteristics of Huaibei Bangzi opera are high pitched and exciting, simple and generous. This kind of singing form is often called "gaobang". The singing style of Huaibei Bangzi opera is banqiang, which mainly includes "adagio", "Erba", "Liushui" and "Feiban". Its plate structure is similar to that of Henan opera, but it has many coloratures and throwing tunes. Most of the operas of Huaibei Bangzi opera are adapted or transplanted from historical themes. The plots of the major operas are attractive, and the flavor of life of the minor operas is rich. They are favored by the masses in Huang Huai area.
Huaibei Bangzi opera comes from the folk and has extraordinary vitality. Its rough and simple performance style and undulating recitation are deeply loved by the local people. The male voice is passionate and high pitched, while the female voice is euphemistic and delicate. The lyric singing with deep feeling and touching feelings, with strong local characteristics and strong local flavor, is the most representative in the Huaihe River Basin, which can be called the living fossil of Huaibei Bangzi opera and has high cultural and artistic value.
For hundreds of years, Huaibei Bangzi opera has been developing in succession and innovation, and has gradually become an independent opera with Anhui characteristics. Huaibei Bangzi opera has its unique value both in cultural connotation and artistic style.
