Southern Hebei Si Gu Xian, also known as "Si Gen Xian", is one of the local operas in Hebei Province. Its main accompaniment instrument Da Xian, also known as "Si Hu", has four silk strings on it, hence its name. It has been spread in Julu County, Guantao County, Wei county and Feixiang County of Hebei Province for more than 200 years. It was first developed from folk Huagu opera. It was introduced to Hebei from Shandong in the early 19th century. On the basis of folk folk folk songs, it absorbed the nutrition of Luantan, Beijing opera, Hebei Bangzi and other operas, and gradually evolved into today's scale.

In the early stage, they performed folk family life dramas. After gradual development, they also performed traditional historical dramas and even stage dramas. Its singing is long and smooth, euphemistic and fluent, which can be divided into male and female. The language of the characters is implicit, humorous and easy to understand, which is loved by the audience. There are many repertoires of four part string drama in Southern Hebei, among which Liu Jinding's going down to the Southern Tang Dynasty, he Hou's scolding hall, er Jin gong and zulou Shaxi are representative works. Si Gu Xian is a precious folk opera cultural heritage with high artistic value, which needs to be supported and protected.
