Introduction to shadow play (Yunmeng shadow play)
Applicant: Yunmeng County, Hubei Province
According to the memory of famous shadow artists Lu Chunyuan and Xu Hanwen, the history of Yunmeng shadow play can be traced back to 100 years ago. The first shadow play performer was Mr. Zhou tiebao's family in the Zhou family's pailou of hujindian. From his great grandfather to him, there have been four generations. Zhoujiapailou is the border village of Anlu and Yunmeng counties. It was once belonged to Yunmeng in history and now belongs to Anlu patrol shop. Therefore, it is said that Yunmeng shadow play originated from Zhou tiebao's great grandfather who was introduced from Anlu. In 1905, his father Lu Dadu went to the south of Anlu City to seek a famous teacher, Mr. Yang bike. The rise and fall of Yunmeng shadow play has lasted till now. The 26 shadow play houses in the county are mainly distributed in the tea houses of 12 towns and neighboring counties. Yunmeng Chengguan is the place with the largest number of shadow play theaters. There are five shadow play theaters from south to north. The repertoire is "chop the imperial envoy", "shanwa and Phoenix Fairy", "Liang Hongyu beat the drum and fight the golden soldiers" and so on.
