Brief introduction of Huadeng Opera
Applicant: Guizhou Huadeng Troupe
Huadeng opera is a kind of folk performing art form of self entertainment, singing and dancing, speaking and singing, with drama, juggling and other comprehensive properties. After entering Guizhou, the lantern absorbed the local language and music tunes of Guizhou, forming a unique style of Guizhou lantern. Qianxi Huadeng opera, the representative of Huadeng in Northwest Guizhou, has a history of more than 200 years, and is now popular in Zunyi, Bijie, Anshun, Tongren and other cities.
At the beginning of the 20th century, Qianxi lanterns added some artistic forms, such as martial arts performance, music tune "Tongzi tree", dance playing with double fans, and the use of lining words, etc., which are not common in other ways of lanterns in Guizhou and have unique Qianxi characteristics. Representative plays include "New Year's greetings", "sisters watching flowers", "three visits to relatives", "Liu Sanmei carrying water", "herding cattle to stop wife" and so on.
In recent years, due to the contrast between the art form of lantern show and the modern strong culture, the number of artists proficient in traditional performing arts is gradually decreasing and aging. The enthusiasm of the young generation to learn traditional lantern performing arts is losing, and the lantern art is in an endangered state. Its protection and support need to be further strengthened.
