He is the only representative of Qiandan and has the reputation of "living Hongniang". The form of Huadan created by him on the stage is the most charming and gentle characteristic of Xunzi school.

The unique "life oriented" performance form of Huadan of Xun school not only enriches the means of expression of classical opera, but also shortens the internal relationship between the transformation and development of classical opera and modern opera, which is of special significance to the study of the development history of Chinese opera. Song Changrong played a unique role in the retransmission of Xunzi school art. His disciples spread all over the country and made great achievements.
