Dangtu folk songs are the general name of all kinds of folk songs popular on both sides of the Yangtze River in eastern Anhui. As early as the Six Dynasties (220-589), there were records of Dangtu folk songs. The famous "white song and dance" presided over by Liu Yu, the emperor of Liu Song, was one of the pulse of Dangtu folk songs. Li Zhiyi, a poet of the Northern Song Dynasty who has lived in Dangtu for a long time, wrote more than 20 songs of "Tian Fu Ta Ge" and "I live at the head of the Yangtze River, and you live at the tail of the Yangtze River", which belong to the category of folk songs. Huang Yue, a native of Dangtu in the Qing Dynasty, wrote more than 50 "Yuhu Zhuzhi Ci", which mainly focused on local customs and customs, representing the highest artistic level of Dangtu folk songs at that time. After 1949, Dangtu people's creation of folk songs, singing folk songs formed a boom, to the end of the 1950s, development to the peak stage.
