Shuangshan island tourist resort is located in the northwest suburb of Zhangjiagang City, covering an area of about 16 square kilometers. The island is one of the islands with the best original ecological environment in the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River, and has high tourism development value. At present, the infrastructure of the island is perfect, with a unique 27 hole golf course, Shuangshan Golf Club ecological amusement park, Shuangshan Island fishing center and other tourism projects.

Shuangshan island tourist resort is located on Shuangshan island in the northwest suburb of Zhangjiagang City, about 20 kilometers away from the urban area. There is no mountain on Shuangshan island. Its name comes from Changshan and Wushan on the south bank. At the beginning of the 20th century, Shuangshan Island silted up and rose to the surface, which was between Zhangjiagang operation channel and Yangtze River channel. The island covers an area of about 20 square kilometers. The Bund area outside the dam is 4 square kilometers, and the area inside the dam is 16 square kilometers. There is no industry on the island. It is one of the Virgin Islands with the best original ecological environment in the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River. The island has a network of rivers, crisscross fields, dense ponds, green trees, elegant environment, fresh air, warm in the East and cool in the summer. It is the main producing area of the "three delicacies of the Yangtze River" (swordfish, shad and puffer fish). Shuangshan island has unique geographical environment and rich natural resources, which retains the quiet and simple natural scenery and good ecological environment.

Tourism construction

Since 1996, with the rapid development of Zhangjiagang's tourism industry, governments at all levels have continuously improved the infrastructure of Shuangshan Island, started the infrastructure project of Shuangshan scenic spot with 17 km long island road and island River as the skeleton, completed the water plant and equipped with 110000 V high-voltage cable across the river. In 1998, the Shuangshan island resort project with a total investment of 25 million yuan and an area of 20000 square meters (with a total construction area of 6700 square meters) was started and put into operation. It has luxury restaurants (with an area of 300 square meters), entertainment center, swimming pool, tennis court, parking lot, villa and other facilities. In 2001, a new international standard water golf course with 18 holes, 7300 yards and 72 strokes, with a total investment of 83.5 million yuan, a total planning area of 178.67 hectares (2680 mu) and a course area of 91.73 hectares (1376 mu), was built. It began to play on October 1, 2002. In 2003, it successfully held the "Huachang Cup" China professional golf elite competition, "Hong Kong China Cup" Golf celebrity match and other activities. The cross shaped main road in the island and the North-South Wharf in Shuangshan island are also under construction and reconstruction with an investment of 25 million yuan. Shuangshan golf club is developing 10 eco-tourism projects, namely: natural swimming pool, shooting Island, tourist catering area, animal viewing area, tourist participation area, fishing area, water activity area, mini golf putter area, breeding area and planting area. These projects will be fully opened on May 1, 2005. The new complex building has a building area of 1200 square meters, and is equipped with multi-functional meeting room, sauna, beauty salon, KTV, chess, table tennis, snooker room and other facilities that can accommodate 120 people. At present, Shuangshan island tourist resort is preparing to create a national AAAA scenic spot with its brand-new appearance, high-quality service, complete facilities and unique tourism projects.
