Gongpeng town
Gongpeng Town, belonging to Yushu City, Changchun City, Jilin Province, is located in the northwest of Yushu city. It borders Tai'an Township in the East, Enyu and Xianfeng Township in the south, Fuyu County in the west, Hongxing Township and No. 8 town in the north. It is 26 kilometers away from Yushu City, covering an area of 234.89 square kilometers.
During the period of the Republic of China, Gongpeng town belonged to the Fifth District of Yushu county; in 1984, Gongpeng town was replaced by Gongpeng town. By the end of 2018, the registered residence population in the town was 63144. As of June 2020, Gongpeng town has one community and 23 administrative villages, and the people's Government of Gongpeng town is located in Gongpeng street community.
In 2018, Gongpeng town has four industrial enterprises, including one above scale and 128 comprehensive stores or supermarkets with a business area of more than 50 square meters.
History of construction
During the period of the Republic of China, it was the Fifth District of Yushu county. During the Japanese puppet period, Gongpeng village was set up. In 1945, it belonged to five districts.
In August 1958, Gongpeng village was transformed into Gongpeng commune.
In January 1959, Gonghe commune was merged into Gongpeng commune.
In 1983, it was changed from Gongpeng commune to Gongpeng township.
In 1984, Gongpeng township was replaced by Gongpeng township.
In May 2001, Wulong township was merged into Gongpeng town.
