Damiao Street

Miao sub district office is located in the east of Xuzhou Economic and Technological Development Zone, with population and area accounting for more than half of the development zone. Xuzhou station of Beijing Shanghai high speed railway, clean technology industrial park, Italian industrial park and development zone are all located in Damiao.

brief introduction

Beijing Fuzhou Expressway and Beijing Shanghai high speed railway run through the north and South; National Highway 206 and Longhai Railway run across the East and West; the location advantage is unique, and the transportation network extends in all directions. With the Eastward Development of Xuzhou City, the decision-making and implementation of a new round of large-scale development and the construction of characteristic small cities in the development zone have been carried out.

administrative division

Damiao sub district office is located in Gulou District, Xuzhou City, Jiangsu Province. According to the State Council's reply on Approving Jiangsu Province to adjust some administrative divisions of Xuzhou City (Guo Han [2005] No. 41) and the provincial government's notice on adjusting some administrative divisions of Xuzhou City (Su Zheng Fa [2005] No. 53), Dahuangshan town and Damiao town of Tongshan County are put under the administrative jurisdiction of Gulou District. The personnel, financial and material integration system of Dahuangshan town and Damiao town in Gulou District will be managed by Xuzhou Economic Development Zone (hereinafter referred to as the Development Zone).

Damiao originally belonged to Tongshan County. In 2005, together with Dahuangshan, it was assigned to Gulou District and managed by the development zone. Later, after adjustment, it belonged to Jiawang District and was still managed by the development zone. In 2013, it was changed to Damiao street.

The name of Damiao originated from Damiao village beside Xulian highway in the northeast of the town. When there was no railway more than 100 years ago, Damiao village, located beside the official road, was the center of this area. With the Longhai railway, the center of Damiao town was gradually transferred to the railway, and the residence was moved to Houji village.

Since modern times, big temples have been important towns in the eastern suburbs of Xuzhou. In Damiao Town, there are railway stations, Houji middle school, the best middle school in Tongshan County, xukuang No.1 Hospital, Tongshan sports school, further education school, deaf school and so on. In terms of industry, Xuzhou diesel oil factory, marble factory, fangting distillery and vegetable oil factory are all located in Damiao town. Weiwei group, the second listed enterprise in Xuzhou, originated from Damiao.

Tongshan County, as a subsidiary County of Xuzhou, originally had no county seat, and the county government was stationed in Xuzhou City. Until the early 1990s, Tongshan decided to build a county (Tongshan New Area), but in the end, it did not choose the site of the temple, but chose the Second Fort in the south of Xuzhou.
