Ziqiang town

Ziqiang town is a town under the jurisdiction of Zitong County, Mianyang City, Sichuan Province. It is located in the southeast of the county, 12 kilometers away from the county. It is adjacent to Maying Township in the East, Baoshi Township in the south, Wenchang town in the West and maming Township in the north. It is a pure agricultural town in hilly area, covering an area of 29.67 square kilometers. Daan township was established in 1951, commune in 1958, Ziqiang Township in 1984 and town in 1992.

On December 25, 2019, Sichuan Provincial People's Government approved the adjustment of administrative divisions of some townships in Mianyang City (cfzm [2019] No. 27): Maying Township and Erdong Township were cancelled, and their administrative areas were put under the jurisdiction of Ziqiang Town, whose people's government was stationed at No. 17 Sanhe Street.

General situation of the town

It has jurisdiction over five administrative villages and 45 villager groups, with a total population of 5143 (2017), and a total cultivated land of 7921 mu, including 2540 mu of farmland and 5381 mu of land. Zitong Jiange highway passes through. There are 12 units and departments within the jurisdiction, namely: Ziqiang middle school, Ziqiang primary school, Ziqiang police station, Ziqiang branch of Guodian company, Ziqiang branch of County Rural Credit Union, Ziqiang Central Health Center, etc. the town is the former district and town seat. The market is prosperous, merchants gather, individual economic development is booming, and the market is active. Provincial highway "302" and Ziyan highway pass by, leading to Gongdian, Wanghe, Tumen, zheba, Maying and Erdong townships in Jiange county. The convenient transportation creates a good environment for the economic development of the town. The town people's government is located in Sanhe Village.

Drought relief work

Ziqiang town of Zitong county is an old dry area to the east of Tongjiang river. At present, the water storage capacity of all reservoirs in the town is only 7.4% of the normal year. In the face of drought, the Party committee and government of the town, without waiting to rely on it, fully mobilized the masses and insisted on making drought as early as possible. As of April 4, 800 mu of early watermelon, 600 mu of early pepper, 800 mu of early peanut and 800 mu of spring corn had been transplanted in the town.

Since the beginning of spring, the town has mobilized the masses to plan, prepare and plant early, and invited technicians from municipal and County Agricultural bureaus and lianglv Watermelon Association to enter the village for publicity and guidance, which has provided technical guarantee for farmers to fight drought and catch early. The main leaders of the town Party committee and government also took the lead in covering villages and areas, went deep into villages and communities, supervised the work of drought relief and disaster reduction, raised funds from all sides, supported and encouraged drought relief and early warning. The town also insisted on controlling drought by drought and paid close attention to "three fields and one village" instead of taking the road of drought. The town has sent a large number of cadres to the front line to calculate the income increase comparison account for the masses, and guide the farmers to change "three fields (Gaolong field, Wangtian field, liushai field) and one village (Hanshan Village)" to dry land as soon as possible. As of April 2, "three fields and one village" has been changed to dry land of 1000 mu, all planted with spring crops.
