Nanzha Street

Nanzha street is under the jurisdiction of Jiangyin City, Wuxi City, Jiangsu Province. Located in the southern suburb of Jiangyin City, it is located in the beautiful and rich Taihu Plain and the prosperous hinterland of Suzhou, Wuxi and Changzhou. It is adjacent to Yunting street in the East, XuXiake town in the southeast, Yuecheng town across the river in the south, Jiaoxi town in Changzhou City in the west, Shengang town in the northwest, Xiagang street in the north and Chengjiang street in the central city in the northeast. It covers an area of 45 square kilometers and has 11 administrative villages (including 2 community residents committees) with a population of 60768 (in 2010). Nanzha, an ancient town with profound cultural heritage. Huangtian gate and Caijing gate were built in Tianxi period of Song Dynasty. Huangtian gate is located in the north of Jiangyin, also known as Beizha. Caijing gate is located in the south of Huangtian gate. It was renamed nanzha in Wanli period of Ming Dynasty. Here, there are rich historical and cultural relics, such as the fangluochi which has not dried up for thousands of years, the Putong tower where the remains of eminent monks are stored, the Zijin bridge built in the Song Dynasty, and the historian wharf. Wu zhuoyao's former residence, Li Yizhi's former residence and Jiulian temple are also located here. In 2013, the street completed 13.902 billion yuan of industrial and commercial invoice sales.

During the reign of emperor Tianxi of Song Dynasty, a sluice was built in the territory, which was called Caijing sluice. Because the sluice is located in the south of Huangtian harbor sluice, it is also called nanzha. The town is named after the sluice. It was nanzha town in 1949 and changed to township in 1951. It was changed into nanzha commune in September 1958, nanzha Township in March 1984 and nanzha town in August 1988. In 1996, it covers an area of 45 square kilometers and has a population of 47000. It has jurisdiction over 24 administrative villages including Huaguo, xiena, Shiyuan, Shuguang, Majing, Xinzhuang, Tuzhen, Nanxin, Jingxi, nanzha, Caidong, Caixi, Longyou, Nanyun, Lingtang, Guanshan, Huangcun, Yuejin, Guandong, Dengta, Sihe, mengan, guanxi, taowan and nanzha Town neighborhood committee.

In 2002, nanzha town was adjacent to Yunting town in the East, Yuecheng town in the south, Jiaoxi town in Wujin District of Changzhou City in the West and Chengjiang town in the north. The area is 45 square kilometers, of which the water area is 13.46 square kilometers, and the registered residence population is 48 thousand and 700. The town government station is located at 13 Zijin Road, and is situated 3 kilometers south of the municipal government's residence. It governs 14 villages of Huaguo, xienan, Shiyuan, Shuguang, Tuzhen, Nanxin, Jingxi, Nanyun, Longyou, Caijing, Guanshan, Dengta, Sihe, Guanxi and a community of nanzha.

In 2009, nanzha town was abolished and nanzha street was set up in its original jurisdiction. The office is located at 11-13 Zijin Road, Jiangyin City, managing 2 neighborhood committees and 10 village committees.

Honors

In January 2021, it was selected into the list of national health towns (counties) to be reconfirmed in 2020.
