Name and origin
It is named after the suburb of the county.
geographical position
Located in the southwest of the county, it is adjacent to Qiling Township and Hulei town in the East, Changzhi town of Dapu County in Guangdong Province in the south, Xianshi town in the West and Fengcheng Town, Jinsha Township and Xixi Township in the north. The township government was originally located in Nanmen Street of Fengcheng town. After the old city reconstruction of Nanmen Street in 2004, it moved to underground road of Fengcheng town. Evolution of administrative districts
The Ming and Qing Dynasties belonged to XINANLI. At the beginning of the founding of new China, Longgang Township, the first district, was also known as Chengguan town. After 1958, it was changed into Chengguan people's commune. Soon, the four communes, Chengguan, Guzhen, Jinsha and Xixi, were merged to be called Xianfeng commune. It was changed into Chengguan commune in 1973. In July 1983, five village (neighborhood) committees were established in Chengguan. In January 1984, Chengguan commune was renamed Chengjiao commune, which has jurisdiction over 10 production teams, including Guyi, Guer, Dongxi, zhangniu, landi, Longmen, zhongkeng, Taokeng, shangxiaxie and Shuangxi. In July, the township system was restored, which was called suburban township, and governed the above-mentioned 10 production teams, collectively referred to as village committees. Sanfeng village committee was added in 1999. In August 2000, Caixia and Wanmei village committees were added, and in February 2001, Shuling village committee was added. on October 8, 2014, the people's Government of Fujian Province approved Yongding County to abolish suburban township and establish suburban town. The administrative region of the former suburban township is the administrative region of the suburban town, and the government's residence remains unchanged.
