Dachang Street

Dachang street, belonging to Jiangbei new district of Nanjing, is the seat of the district Party committee and district government of the former Dachang District of Nanjing. It is located in Getang in the west, Changlu in the north and Pancheng in the south, with an area of 36.13 square kilometers and a total population of 224000. It governs 24 urban community residents committees.

Dachang, formerly known as jiejiadian, is said to be the place where Xiang Yu, the overlord of Western Chu, removed his armor. Yongli factory, the earliest chemical base in China and the largest factory in the Far East built here by Mr. Fan Xudong, a patriotic industrialist in modern times, is located in China, so it is called Dachang.

In 2012, jiejiadian street, xichangmen street and shanpan street were merged to form Dachang street; in 2014, five communities of Getang street were put under Dachang street; in August 2017, the streets were put under the unified custody of the Party Working Committee and Management Committee of Jiangbei new area. The sub district Party Working Committee has 24 community party organizations, 28 enterprise party organizations and 9 organ party branches, with 6806 members.

Dachang street is located in the north of Jiangbei new district, Nanjing City, with the Yangtze River in the East, Pancheng street in the South and Changlu street in the north. About 18 kilometers away from the main city of Jiangnan, it has unique location advantages, convenient transportation and excellent living environment. It is one of the important commercial, financial, cultural, educational and logistics centers in Jiangbei, a pivotal industrial satellite city in Nanjing, and one of the investment hotspots in the economic development of Jiangsu "Silver Triangle".

Dachang street is full of large national enterprises such as Sinopec Yangzi Petrochemical Co., Ltd., Sinopec Nanjing Chemical Industry Co., Ltd., Yangzi Petrochemical BASF Co., Ltd., Nanjing Huaneng thermal power plant, Nanjing Iron and Steel Group, Jiangsu nanre Power Generation Co., Ltd., and Shisi Chemical Construction Co., Ltd. It has Nanjing vocational and Technical College of science and technology, Yuying second foreign language and other well-known institutions, as well as two tertiary medical institutions in Jiangbei District of CUHK hospital and Jiangbei people's hospital.

Dachang street was established on July 6, 2012. It is composed of yuanshanpan street, jiejiadian street and xichangmen street in Liuhe District. The whole system is entrusted to Nanjing Chemical Industrial Park for management. In June 2014, the four communities of the original Getang street were officially assigned to Dachang street. The integrated Street area is about 36 square kilometers, which governs two central communities of shanpan and Nangang, as well as 23 residents' committees, with a permanent resident population of 220000.
