Yanxi town is located in the northwest of Xiajiang County, Ji'an City, Jiangxi Province. It is 37 kilometers away from Shuibian town. Geping in the East, Luotian in the south, Baqiu in the southeast, Jinjiang in the southwest and Xinyu in the northwest. Covering an area of 119.96 square kilometers, it governs 10 villagers' committees in Yanxi, Pengxi, Hongqiao, juexi, Yinshan, JinFang, Buxi, Pingtou, Zhuoling and zhuoxi, with a permanent population of 12560 (2017).

Characteristic agricultural products include tobacco, waxberry, Artemisia, etc.; industrial products include iron ore powder, tungsten ore, quartz powder, granite, etc. Hongqiao, Yanxi, Pengxi and Buxi are relatively flat, and other places are located in low hills. Dashan (338.1 meters) is located in the south of the territory, which is the highest point in the territory. The main mineral resources are quartz, tungsten, granite and iron ore. The quality of Pengxi mojingyu granite is the best. the main runoff in the territory is Panlong River and its tributaries. Among them, Panlong River flows about 16 kilometers in the territory. Water resources are abundant.
