Dapingzi township is located in the southwest of Leibo County, 56 kilometers away from the county government. The highest altitude is 2845 meters, and the lowest is 409 meters by the Liutong river. The township covers an area of 26 square kilometers and has a population of 2000.
On June 12, 2020, the people's Government of Sichuan Province decided to abolish Dapingzi township.

economic development
The rural agriculture mainly produces wheat and corn. Economic trees are mainly walnut, peanut and Zanthoxylum bungeanum. there is phosphate rock near niuniuzhai of the township, which contains high phosphorus content and other rare elements, so it is a valuable mineral deposit.
