Nanyuan District
Fengtai District governs townships (regions). It is located in the south of Beijing and the east of Fengtai District. It is adjacent to Xicheng District and Dongcheng District in the north, Daxing District in the south, Chaoyang District in the East and Huaxiang and Lugouqiao Township in the West. It covers an area of 56.79 square kilometers and has a permanent population of 47547 (2017). Now it has jurisdiction over 7 neighborhood committees, 12 administrative villages, and the Office (township government) is located in building 11, South Lane, dahongmen.
Liangshui River and its three tributaries flow from northwest to Southeast. South Ring railway transit, with Yongdingmen railway station, dahongmen railway freight station. Evolution of organizational system
In 1948, the area to the south of dahongmen belonged to Nanyuan District of Beiping City, and the area to the North belonged to the 15th District of Beiping city. The latter two districts merged and were renamed 23, 14 and 11 districts. In August 1952, 11 districts were renamed Nanyuan district. In August 1958, the organizational system of Nanyuan district was abolished, and the original districts were assigned to Daxing County and Fengtai District respectively. At the same time, Nanyuan commune was established. In March 1984, it was changed to Nanyuan rural office, and in February 1987, it was changed to Nanyuan Township. In 1996, it covers an area of 57.1 square kilometers and has a population of 27000.
