Historical evolution

During the first five year plan period, the country accepted the Soviet Union's aid to build mechanized grain farm. In memory of the friendship between China and the Soviet Union, it was named "state-owned friendship farm". In November 1954, the farm was surveyed and designed, and in December of the same year, 8 km northeast of sandaogang was selected as the general site. In May 1955, the farm was fully developed and constructed, and then a small town of agricultural reclamation was formed. In April 1960, friendship County was set up and friendship town was set up in the headquarters, which became friendship County. In October 1962, Youyi county was abolished and subordinate to Jixian County. In October 1964, it returned to the newly restored Youyi county. In June 1968, friendship town was the headquarters of the 18th regiment of the production and Construction Corps. In February 1976, the production and Construction Corps was abolished and remained the General Department of friendship farm. In August of the next year, Youyi county was abolished and still attached to Jixian County.
