Mingde Township

Mingde township is located in the northeast of Yingshan County, Sichuan Province, adjacent to Fulou town of Pingchang county and Dayi town of Guifu town of Qu county. It has a deep hilly terrain, with an altitude of 424 meters and an area of 40.45 square kilometers. It governs 13 villages and 7105 people (2017). The township has 5516 mu of forest land and 510300 cubic meters of timber reserves. There is the largest state-owned forest in the county, with hundreds of years of towering trees, and the forest coverage rate reaches 43.6%. There are thousands of mu of mingdexiang tea, Eucommia ulmoides, Phellodendron amurense and other Chinese herbal medicines all over the hillside.

The township makes full use of its resource advantages and vigorously develops animal husbandry. 10500 goats have been raised and become one of the goat bases in Sichuan Province. The development of live pigs is particularly prominent, with 17206 pigs sold annually, an income increase of 400 yuan per capita, and a tax revenue of 160000 yuan for the state.

In recent years, the township continues to increase the intensity of highway construction, rural roads have been better maintained, smooth transportation. Rural roads are basically accessible to every village. With the rapid development of Posts and telecommunications, program-controlled telephone has been opened in every village, and the popularization rate of radio and television has reached 98.5%.

The township is located at the junction of the three counties, with prominent marginal advantages and active business activities. Mingde borders on Quxian and Pingchang counties, and is adjacent to Muya, longfu, Shuanglin, puling, Liuhe, Fulou (Pingchang), Dayi (Quxian) and Guifu (Quxian).
