In modern times, the president of the Republic of China Yuan Shikai (1912-1916) lived in Huixian in seclusion after he was removed from office by Regent zaifeng in the late Qing Dynasty. During that time, he bought Guanshan in shangbali and changed its name to "Guanshan". There was a Tianzhu on the mountain. Yuan Shikai thought of "Heaven's help" and hoped that heaven could help him to make a comeback. Later, after the outbreak of the revolution of 1911, he became the president of the Republic of China. Today, there are two characters of "Yuan Jie" on Tianzhu peak, and stone carvings of "yuan Gongjian hall" in the south of Guanshan Mountain. In addition, the president of the Republic of China Xu Shichang (1918-1922) often visited shangbali when he lived in seclusion in Shuizhu village of Huixian county. His landscape painting "Shimen mountain temporary picture" probably copied the Shimen mountain in shangbali.
