Maoer Village

Maoer township is located in the southwest of Huayuan County, 23 kilometers away from the county. It is adjacent to yaqiao Township in the East, Minle town in the west, Longtan town and Chadong town in the north, and paiwu Township in the south. It has jurisdiction over 15 administrative villages with 15509 people (in 2017). The existing cultivated land area is 18638.5 mu, including 11300.5 mu of paddy field, 7338 mu of dry land and 1.4 mu of cultivated land per capita. The terrain in the territory is wavy, and the north is like a wave crest, with an altitude of 550-750 meters;

In the south, there are low mountains and hills, with an altitude of 450-550 meters. The forest coverage rate of the township reached 48%. The territory has a mild climate, abundant rainfall, annual average temperature of 15 ℃, annual sunshine of 1400 hours, annual rainfall of 1200-1500 mm, mainly concentrated in April to September. There are abundant grassland resources, mainly distributed in three villages of Cunninghamia lanceolata, Taiyangshan and Tianwan, which are suitable for large-scale breeding and grazing. The main soil types are yellow soil, Black Lime Soil and paddy soil, which are rich in organic matter and rich in high-quality rice. The main mineral resources are manganese, molybdenum, lead and zinc, which have been developed on a large scale. At present, there are three manganese mines, 47 molybdenum lead zinc mines and 2000 jobs. In 2003, the total industrial and agricultural output value of the township was 60 million yuan, the fiscal and tax income was 2 million yuan, and the per capita net income of farmers was 1200 yuan, basically eliminating the poverty-stricken population.
