Maodu Town, located in the north of Keyouzhong banner, is 90 kilometers away from the seat of the banner government. It is adjacent to Baoshi and Xuetian township of Tuquan County in the East, barenzelimu and kundureng Sumu in the west, and aleder and taohemu Sumu in KEYOUQIAN banner in the north. The total area is 1402.31 square kilometers.

It has jurisdiction over four neighborhood committees, i.e. 1st Street, 2nd Street, 3rd Street and 4th Street; 17 Gacha and 29 natural villages, i.e. Hailin, taiji'ai'er, yuanbaotun, bayantaohai, Wulanhada, hatuchagan, cairitu, zhunbayanulan, tulemaudu, helimu, barenbayanulan, bogenzalaga, harihada, hailinzhong'ai'er, hanchagan, manitu, aguizalaga.

The town is a hilly area with annual precipitation of 360 mm and frost free period of 100-120 days. The soil is mostly chernozem. It is rich in water resources with 5 rivers.

Economic overview

Tuleimaodu town is a semi agricultural and semi pastoral area, with 116000 mu of arable land and 1.04 million mu of grassland. The main crops are corn, soybean, beet, potato and so on. Most of the animal husbandry is grassland animal husbandry, including local cattle, improved breed cattle, black and white cattle, Xing'an fine wool sheep, Wuzhumuqin big tail sheep and Small Tail Han sheep, half of which are cashmere goats and sheep. Township enterprises have developed rapidly, with more than 280 brick factories, wine factories, clothing factories, pastry factories and grain and rice processing factories.
