Hexi Town

Hexi Town is located in the northwest of Muling City, Heilongjiang Province, only 1km away from the urban area. It is separated from Bamiantong town and a river in the East, Xiachengzi town and Xingyuan town in the south, Linkou County in the West and Jixi City in the north. It is 94 kilometers away from Suifenhe, Dongning and other national first-class ports, and 95 kilometers away from Mudanjiang city. It is located in the hinterland of Northeast Asia's "Golden Triangle".

Covering an area of 860 square kilometers, the town has 19 administrative villages, three mines and one farm (Guangyi mine, graphite mine, Xinglong mine, Mudanjiang breeding stock farm), with a total number of 5500 households and a total population of 25000.

On July 15, 2011, the Provincial Department of Civil Affairs issued the document "Reply of Heilongjiang Provincial Department of Civil Affairs on withdrawing Hexi Township and building Hexi Town in Muling City" (Heimin District [2011] No. 105), which agreed to cancel Hexi Township and establish Hexi Town.

Historical evolution

The township government is located in Leifeng village, formerly known as "xialeifengqi (leifengqi)", which is relative to "shangleifengqi (now Xinxing)".

Modern development began with gold mining. Leifenggou is known as "hundred Li Jinchuan".

In the Qing Dynasty, it was under the jurisdiction of ningguta.

In 1863 (the second year of Tongzhi reign of the Qing Dynasty), some people went to liangshuiquanzi (today's Sanxing, Leifeng, Jinshan area) to collect gold privately. At the end of the Qing Dynasty and the beginning of the Republic of China, with the development of land reclamation, the agricultural population living in xiangyangtun, leifengqi and baicaogou gradually increased.

In 1910, it was under the jurisdiction of the first police district of Muling county.

After the founding of the Republic of China, it was subordinate to the second police district in 1914,

In 1921, it was transferred to the third district (Bamiantong).

After the fall of Northeast China, leifengjia was set up in 1933, under the eight sides of Tongbao,

In 1939, Leifeng village was established.

After the victory of the Anti Japanese war in 1945, it was subordinate to Bamiantong district.

In July 1949, it was divided into the eighth district.

After the founding of the people's Republic of China, the eighth district was abolished and merged into the first district in November 1949.

In March 1956, the township was divided into Hexi, Puxing and Fulai.

In September 1958, the three townships were merged into Bamiantong people's commune.

In April 1960, the original three townships were separated from Bamiantong commune to form golden commune, which was renamed Hexi commune in August of the same year.

In August 1984, the government and society were separated and changed to Hexi township.

On July 8, 2011, after the study of the provincial government's special meeting on the adjustment of administrative divisions, it was agreed that Hexi Township in our city should be removed from the township and built into a town.

On July 15, 2011, the original Hexi township of Muling City was officially removed from the township to build a town and renamed as Hexi Town of Muling City. The administrative region of the original Hexi township is the administrative region of the newly established Hexi Town, and its subordinate relationship and government residence remain unchanged.

Hexi Town is the birthplace of Muling county Party committee. In October 1930, the Manchuria Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China ordered the North Manchuria special committee of the Communist Party of China to establish the Muling County Committee of the Communist Party of China. The county committee is located in xiangyangtun (now Xiangyang Village, Hexi Town). Li Fanwu, former first vice minister of forest reclamation department and former governor of Heilongjiang Province, was born in Fuxing village, Hexi Town. In 1933, the luzigou Anti Japanese guerrillas under Hu Ren's leadership had a great success. After the team grew to more than 100 people, they were incorporated into the Anti Japanese Alliance Army led by Zhou Baozhong. The revolutionary deeds of the forefathers inspire the people in Hexi to build a happy Hexi in the new era, full of passion and hard work.

Hexi Town is the town with the most abundant mineral resources in Muling City. It is rich in "two black and one yellow" (graphite, coal and gold), and "Baili Jinchuan" is famous all over the country. There are rock gold, sand gold, coal, graphite, granite, marble, serpentinite and many other mineral deposits in the territory, among which the mineral deposits with great development prospects are: coal reserves of 220 million tons, graphite reserves of 28.2 million tons, rock gold reserves of 30.4 tons, sand gold reserves of 8 tons, granite reserves of 724300 cubic meters, marble reserves of 1 million cubic meters, serpentinite reserves of 400000 cubic meters.

Hexi Town is rich in natural resources and beautiful in mountains and rivers. The town has a total land area of 46300 mu, grassland area of 21746 mu, forest area of 2.5 million mu, forest coverage rate of 70%. In the vast forest, there are many precious woods such as Korean pine, larch, Scotch pine, Fraxinus mandshurica and oak birch; there are hundreds of Chinese herbal medicines such as ginseng, astragalus, acanthopanax senticosus, Platycodon grandiflorum and longdancao; there are rare mountain products such as black fungus, yuan mushroom, Hericium erinaceus, hazelnut mushroom and Pteridium aquilinum, with an annual output of more than 1000 tons.

Hexi Town has strong economic strength. In 2002, the town's total output of grain, beans and potatoes was 26.97 million jin, the total agricultural income was 49.58 million yuan, 52 industrial enterprises, and the annual output value was 35.78 million yuan, including Lianhua cemetery, a famous provincial enterprise. The industrial economy of the whole town has formed five industrial systems, including coal, metallurgy, building materials, wine making, agricultural and sideline products processing, and dozens of industrial products. Among them, "BAIXIAN" brand Baijiu, marble tombstone, high-efficiency and energy-saving red brick and other products sell well in more than ten provinces, cities and regions in China. With the rapid development of agriculture and rural economy, characteristic and green agriculture has begun to take shape. Beef cattle breeding, green food development, pollution-free crop cultivation and other industries are in the ascendant with broad prospects. High quality colored rice, natural black fungus, pollution-free green vegetables and other products enjoy a high reputation in the market.

The infrastructure of Hexi Town is improving day by day. The town's program-controlled telephone has entered the international direct dial network, mobile phones have been connected to the national network, and the hardening rate of rural roads has reached 70%. Education, culture and health facilities are complete, and radio and television have realized "village to village".
