Tieshan township is located in the northeast of Longyan City, Fujian Province, covering an area of 125.20 square kilometers. The township government is located in Yangtou village, 5km away from the urban area. In the Ming Dynasty, it belonged to Tieshi village, with tieshiyang, Xixi, Pinglin, Jiangwu in the east of Fangli and baiyanqian in the south. From the Qing Dynasty to the early Republic of China, there were tieshiyang society, Pinglin society, Baiyan society and Xixi area of hepingzaifang. From July 18 to the winter of the next year, the Soviet government of Tieshan district was established to govern the Soviet governments of Shangyang, Xiayang and Waiyang townships; from March 19 to January the following year, the Soviet government of Pinglin district was established to govern the Soviet governments of Pinglin and linbang townships; from April to October 20, the Soviet government of pingtie (Tieshan) district was established to govern linbang, Fuxi, Pinglin, Shangyang, Waiyang, Xiayang, gekou and the United States The Soviet government of Li and other townships. Yangwei, chenluo, zengping and xiejiabang belonged to the Soviet government of Baiyan district. In the 22nd year of the Republic of China, it belonged to pingtie district and governed Tieshi, Wuping and Shiyan townships. In March of the 26th year of the Republic of China, Tieshi, Baiyan and Wuping townships were divided into the first district, and the next year was reduced to Tieshi and Baiyan townships. In December of the 30th year of the Republic of China, pingtie township was set up, with jurisdiction over Xiegan, Dongyang, Dongxi, Yangtou, Yangzhong, Waiyang, yangweibao, xiebang, zengping, Linghou, chenshanbao in Dabai Township, and linbang, Pinglin, fuxibao in Dongling township. In the 33rd year of the Republic of China, it belonged to Xinluo Town, under the jurisdiction of Yang, Shangyang and xidanbao, Chenshan, Linghou and zengpingbao in neishan Township, and xingcai, Pinglin and linbangbao in Tongjiang township.

In 1957, Tieshan township was set up with tieshiyang, linbang, nanshai and Fuxi villages under its jurisdiction; Baiyan Township had Zengyan, Lingjia and chenluo villages under its jurisdiction; in 1958, Tieshan and Baiyan people's communes were established. In 1959, the two communes were merged into Tieshan commune. The next year, they were merged into suburban commune and set up Tieshan management area. In June 1961, Tieshan commune was restored, with 11 production teams and 52 production teams in Xixi, Waiyang, liucuo, huangduan, Shangyang, Xiayang, gekou, linbang, Fuxi, Pinglin and meilixi; Baiyan commune with 17 production teams and 34 production teams in Lianmin, Lianshan, Lianqun, Caiyu, Minsheng, Minqiang, Xiaban, Huode, Luoshan, zengping, Xianlu, lijiu, ShangBang, Hongjin, Qunli, Linghou and Hongjia Team. In 1965, the two communes merged and were called Tieshan commune. Tieshan township was established in July 1984. In 1987, it had jurisdiction over 15 villages and 88 villager groups. Tieshan township area along the coast of Yanshi river is flat, with an average altitude of 311 meters; most of the other areas have continuous mountains, with an average altitude of 793 meters. There are coal, limestone and so on. The main crops are rice, sweet potato and so on, and the local specialties are dried bamboo shoots and so on. In 1987, the total population was 14434, including 3442 non-agricultural population, 11367 mu of cultivated land and more than 100000 mu of forest land. The total output value of agriculture is 3.61 million yuan (according to the price in 1980), including 1.96 million yuan for planting and 930000 yuan for animal husbandry. There are 3 independent accounting industrial enterprises with a total output value of 1.43 million yuan. There are 66 industrial enterprises run by village committees and below, with 398 employees and an output value of 1.5338 million yuan. There are 228 township enterprises with 1161 employees and a total income of 7.8572 million yuan (at current price). Among them, there are 5 Township run enterprises and 423 employees with a total income of 4.735 million yuan.
