Historical evolution

Fenggang town, formerly known as "sandaogang". Originally under the jurisdiction of the Sixth District of Fujin county. In June 1946, it was assigned to Jixian County and set up sandaogang district. In 1950, it was changed into the Tenth District. In March 1956, sandaogang township was set up. In the autumn of 1958, it was renamed sandaogang people's commune, and immediately merged into friendship farm, which was ranked as seven branches. After the establishment of friendship farm in 1960, sandaogang township was set up. In 1968, it was renamed the seventh Battalion of the 18th regiment of the production and Construction Corps. In 1976, the production and Construction Corps was abolished and the seven branches of friendship farm were restored. After the establishment of Youyi county was restored, Fenggang town was set up in August 1985. The total area of the town is 109.3 square kilometers, with 117000 mu of cultivated land. The town has jurisdiction over Fenggang, xixinfa, Youli, Desheng, Beixing, Jifu, Liuhe, Xinglongshan, Majia street, Xingfu and other 10 villages. At the end of 2012, the total population of the town was 12000, of which Korean, Manchu and other ethnic minorities accounted for about 4.5%. The town government is located in Fenggang village.
