Longshan Town is located 12 kilometers northeast of Jinshan Town. It is adjacent to Shijia Manchu Township in the East, daniuqun Township in the west, Jinshan Town in the south, and niuyingzi town in the north. The total area is 141 square kilometers. The main mineral resources are zeolite with abundant reserves. The Xibe river passes through the town. In the early years of the reign of Emperor Guangxu of the Qing Dynasty, local farmers began to water their land. In the early Qing Dynasty, King Kalaqin built his residence here. During the period of puppet Manchu rule, it belonged to Longshan Village of Kalaqin Right Banner. Besides the village office, there was also a police station. After the victory of the Anti Japanese War, it belonged to gongyefu district (Second District) of Jianxi county. In 1956, Longshan township was designated. In 1958, the people's commune was established. In 1984, Longshan township was restored and later merged with Tuodian township. It has jurisdiction over 13 village committees. Longshan Town has convenient transportation. Chifeng Chengde Jinshan Pingzhuang highway passes through the town. During the Anti Japanese War, the local people made some contributions. In 1979, with the approval of the former Zhaowuda league office, guibaogou village was named the old revolutionary base area.
The economy of Longshan Town is dominated by agriculture, with comprehensive development of agriculture, animal husbandry, forestry and sideline industry. The land along the river is flat and the water conservancy conditions are good. The main food crops are millet, corn, sorghum, rice and so on. Grain output increased steadily. Longshan Town began to grow rice in 1980, and now it has been planted in large areas of river beach. It has excellent varieties and high yield, and is one of the important rice producing areas in the whole banner. Economic crops include oil sunflower, flax, sugar beet, Chinese herbal medicine and so on. In recent years, improved varieties of corn have been developed, and corn seeds are exported to northeast and North China. The forest coverage rate of the township is 17%. Township run enterprises include comprehensive factories, brick factories and zeolite mines. In recent years, lean coal has been found in guibaogou village with good quality and heat up to 7000 kcal. all villages in the town have been electrified, and there is a post and telecommunications office and a broadcasting station in the township. All villages are connected by telephone and broadcasting. there are 15 primary and secondary schools in the town, and the enrollment rate of school-age children is 98.6%. One township hospital has 20 beds and 13 medical staff. There are medical stations in each village. There are also cultural stations and radio stations in the village. from the late Qing Dynasty to the Republic of China, most of the villagers in niutougoumen village were Catholics, with a Catholic Church and priests preaching.
