In 1950, they were respectively under the jurisdiction of Changchun Township, Guanyuan Township, Shahu Township, Wuluo Township and Lianxi township (belonging to Wutai District) under the people's Government of Hongshan District. In 1951, it belonged to the eighth District People's Government of Wuhan city. In the second half of 1952, the eighth district was abolished and Donghu District and Nanhu District were established respectively. In 1956, Zhongnan Road Street Office (including a part of Lianxi township) was established on the basis of Guanyuan Township and Dongting township. In 1957, Zhongnan Road office was assigned to Wuchang District. In the same year, it will be divided into Binhu and Zhongnan Street offices. In 1959, the two street offices were merged into Hongshan Street office. In 1960, Hongshan Street office was assigned to Hongshan District. In the same year, urban people's communes were established.
