After the founding of the Republic of China, the number of people increased, reaching more than 20 from 1917 to 1918. The magistrate of Fujin County visited this place twice to discuss with the gentry and famous people about the arrangement of the street base and the establishment of the village. The people who discussed the street called it "Jixian" because they thought it was a "gathering of wise people". In 1925, Jixian Bao and Jixian Jia were established. After the fall of Northeast China, it was initially called Jixian Bao, and later changed to Jixian street. After the victory of the Anti Japanese war in 1945, Jixian County was set up in June 1946 as the seat of the county government. In 1948, the county was divided into urban area and suburban area. In 1950, the urban area was changed into the first area and the suburban area into the second area. In March 1956, the county government moved to welfare Village, set up Jixian town in Jixian street, and set up Yongfa Township and Baoan Township in suburban areas. In the autumn of 1958, Jixian town was merged with Yongfa Township, Baoan Township and Yong'an township to form Jixian people's commune. In 1961, the northern area of Jixian commune was set up as Yong'an commune. In 1977, nine production brigades in the East were assigned to the newly established Liming commune.
