Zigan Township
Zigan township is located in the middle of Yuanping City, Shanxi Province. Yuanping City is located on the East Bank of Hutuo River, 10 kilometers to the East. Most of the township is irrigated. Surrounded by Tianya mountain, Shanhu mountain and Hongmen mountain, it is commonly known as bojiwan, with Zhongyang Township in the north, Dingxiang County in the south, Xinyuan Township in the West and Dongshe town in the East. In recent years, it has gradually become the hometown of fruits, cows and buildings. Infrastructure construction has been further strengthened. The township roads run from east to west, the original roads run from north to south, the village roads are basically hardened, and the public transport vehicles form a big cycle of the township. Square construction has become a major feature of zigan, a comprehensive carrier integrating culture, commerce, education and entertainment. In terms of transportation, there are urban and rural roads leading directly to the original fifth line and Dayun Expressway, which is very convenient.
Zigan township is named in memory of the Anti Japanese hero Liu zigan, covering an area of 88 square kilometers and 133500 mu. There are 15045 permanent residents (in 2017), 11 administrative villages and 3304 hectares of arable land. There are 16 party branches in the township, including 11 rural branches, 723 party members and 475 peasant party members.

Zigan township is located 10 kilometers east of Hutuo River, surrounded by Tianya mountain, Shanhu mountain and Hongmen mountain, commonly known as bojiwan. It is adjacent to Zhongyang Township in the north, Dingxiang County in the south, Xinyuan Township in the West and Dongshe town in the East. It has a temperate continental monsoon climate, with an average annual temperature of 14.5 ℃, frost free period of 150 days, and annual precipitation of 498.7mm. However, it is unevenly distributed throughout the four seasons, with precipitation mainly concentrated from April to September. The township is dominated by agriculture, forestry and animal husbandry, with only small quartz and clay deposits. the main mode of agricultural production is dry farming, with 49560 mu of arable land in the township. There are 29565 mu of irrigated land, 20685 mu of dry land, mainly corn and sorghum, and small grains in mountainous dry land. The vegetation protection in zigan township is in good condition, and the forest coverage rate reaches 13%. Among them, the dry fruit economic forest reaches 10000 mu.

The participation rate of rural cooperative medical system reached 100%, 80% of outpatient reimbursement and 90% of inpatient reimbursement. The medical conditions are limited. Zigan township is close to Dayun Expressway, with convenient transportation. The Changyuan line runs from east to west, passing through villages such as tingzhitou, Zhangjiazhuang, dongxiazhuang and zigan, while the Zixian line runs from north to south, passing through villages such as tingzhitou, dongxiazhuang, zigan, dongnanjia, xinanjia and caijiagang, totaling 25 km. All village roads have been hardened, and the hardened mileage of streets and alleys is 130 km. Public transport vehicles form a large cycle, which is convenient for residents to travel. there is no independent substation in the township, and the wire network is crisscross. There are mainly four transmission lines: xironghua line, 35 km, passing through zigan, xironghua, dongronghua and nanguoxia; xinanjia line, 40 km, passing through zigan, dongxiazhuang, dongdongnanjia, xinanjia and caijiagang; Zhongyang line, 72 km, passing through dongxiazhuang and tingzhitou; Shangzhuang line, passing through Zhangjiazhuang and zigan.
scenic spot
Tianya mountain scenic spot. Relying on its unique natural landscape of "wind blowing stone drum, sweeping snow at the end of the world", and taking the spirit of "loyalty and filial piety" of Jie Zitui, a historical figure in the spring and Autumn period more than 2600 years ago as the theme, the scenic spot excavates Yuanping City and local tourism cultural resources and cultivates tourism cultural industry.
Historical celebrities
Liu zigan. Liu Zi Gan is good at taking pictures and drawing pictures. After taking part in the revolution in 1937, he successively served as the propaganda minister of the three district party committees of Dongjia County, the instructor of the County Public Security Bureau and the head of the social section, and led the public security guard to fight against traitors and anti espionage for many times. On November 30, 1942, when he was surrounded by Japanese troops in beizhuangtou village, Liu Shen responded and covered the surrounded cadres to get out of danger. He was seriously injured. When the enemy approached, he pulled a grenade and died with the enemy. To commemorate this martyr, the Party committee of Jijin district changed the name of Damo village to zigan village. In February 1945, the government of Shanxi Chahar Hebei border district erected a monument to the martyrs in liuzigan cemetery.
