Guimen township is located in the southwest of Shengzhou City. Guimen village is 35 kilometers away from the urban area. It is adjacent to Xinchang County in the East, Dongyang City in the south, Changle Town in the northwest and Ganlin town in the northeast. Historical evolution
Lu Guishu founded lumen Academy in Shaoxing period of Southern Song Dynasty (1131-1162). In the seventh year of Chunxi (1180), Zhu Xi went to Sheng for disaster relief. He visited Lu Guishu in lumen and gave lectures in lumen Academy. He inscribed the word "Guimen" in Lv's residence. Later generations changed lumen to "Guimen", and the township got its name from its residence. In 1950, Guimen township was divided into Guimen Township, Shangli Township, Ya'an Township and Hengshan township. In March 1956, Guimen Township, Shangli Township, Ya'an Township and Feixi township (which was transferred into Dongyang County in August 1955) were merged into Xinshan township. In 1957, Feixi township was designated. In October 1958, it was the Xinshan administrative area, under the jurisdiction of Nanshan people's commune. Xinshan people's commune was established in November 1961. In July 1983, it was changed to Xinshan township. In May 1992, Xinshan, Hengshan and Feixi merged to establish Guimen township.
