Dongfeng Township is under the jurisdiction of Lindian county. Located in the middle of the county, north of Lindian town.

The township government is 4 km away from the county seat. In May 1961, the three communes of Lindian Town, Hongqi and liming set up Dongfeng people's commune. It was changed to Dongfeng Township in 1984. the whole terrain of Dongfeng Township is flat, with slight ups and downs in the West. The total area of the township is 121.7 square kilometers, with cultivated land area of 101000 mu, mainly agriculture and animal husbandry. The development of farmland infrastructure is rapid, with three main drainage channels passing through the countryside, more than 200 electric wells and 52000 mu of effective irrigation area. The township has jurisdiction over 11 villages, including Gengsheng, Dongfeng, Chaoyang, Dongfa, Xinxiang, Guofu, Juxian, Changqing, Changsheng, Hexiang and Heping. At the end of 1992, the total population of the township was 13000, mainly Han nationality. The township government is located in Zhaoguan Wopeng village. In 2001, Dongfeng Township of Lindian county was abolished and merged into Lindian town.
