Yongping town

Yongping Town, belonging to the county of Longyan, Fujian, is located in the North Valley of the north wind of the wind ridge in the north of the county. It is 27 kilometers from the county seat, and is known as the "Wu Bei Nan gate". The total area is 256 square kilometers, and the registered residence population is 21648. (2018), 15 administrative villages (October 2019) are administered, and the Provincial Road 206 line is worn across the border.

Historical evolution

Song Dynasty belongs to Guiping township.

Ming belongs to Xinshun regiment.

At the beginning of the Republic of China, Yongping district was established.

In 1940, it merged with Taoxi and Xiangdian to form the fourth district.

In 1948, Yongping Township and Zhaoxin Township were established.

During the period of the Chinese Soviet regime, it belonged to Yongping District, and 12 townships established the Soviet regime.

After the founding of new China, it was first divided into the Tenth District and Yongping district.

In 1956, Wubei district was merged with Taoxi and Dahe.

In April 1958, Yongping Township and Maocun Township were set up separately. In November of the same year, the two townships merged to form rocket commune.

In April 1961, it was divided into Maocun commune and Yongping commune.

In 1965, it was merged into Yongping commune.

In October 1984, Yongping commune was abolished and Yongping township was established.

In November 2014, the township was set up.

Transportation

Provincial Highway 206 passes through Yongping town. It is only 20 kilometers away from provincial highway 306 in the south, and directly leads to Changting, Jiangxi Huichang and other places in the north. The highway mileage in the territory is 65 kilometers.

History and culture

In the 1930s, Yongping town was once the southeast front line of the Central Soviet area. The revolutionary martyrs shed their heads and blood, and Xu Zhuo, former Secretary of the third division headquarters of the Guangdong Jiangxi military region, died here.

Taking inheriting folk culture and carrying forward Hakka spirit as the main line, Yongping town has built a new folk culture square and folk culture exhibition hall based on the folk unique skills of "going up the knife mountain, going down the fire sea, fishing for oil pot" of zhongtuan village, a provincial intangible cultural heritage, integrating traditional culture into the construction of beautiful countryside.
