famous scenery
Guilong pagoda, also known as Zuojiang slanting pagoda, is one of the eight slanting pagodas in the world. It stands on the stone island in Zuojiang. It was built by Li Youmei, the magistrate of Ming Dynasty, in the first year of Tianqi (1621). At that time, it had three stories. In 1629, Xu Yue, the magistrate of Kangxi of Qing Dynasty, added two stories to form a five story brick pagoda. The diameter of the bottom of the pagoda is 5 meters, the height of the pagoda is 18.28 meters, and the body of the pagoda is octagonal. There are eight eaves on each side of the pagoda, and a bronze bell is hung at each corner of the eaves. The spiral brick ladder inside the tower is twisted anticlockwise to the top floor, and people walk on the stairs, with a strong inclination. According to the measurement, the inclination of the tower body is 1.42 meters horizontally, with an inclination of 4 ° 24 ′ 46 ", which is known as one of the world's largest inclined towers. According to experts' research, the pagoda was carefully designed by craftsmen taking into account the wind force in the middle of the river, the foundation and other factors when building the pagoda. The pagoda has a stable structure and harmonious shape. Since its completion, although it has lasted for more than 300 years, it has been repeatedly washed by floods, exposed to the sun, wind and rain, and it still stands upright, which shows the brilliant construction technology of ancient Chinese people.
