Chaoyang township is located in the east of Xinzhou District, Shangrao City, Jiangxi Province, on the South Bank of Xinjiang River. It covers an area of 76.6km2 and has a population of 40141. It has two neighborhood committees, including Xiangtan and Shishan, and 11 administrative villages, including Chaoyang, Qingshi, Wangcun, Xiyuan, Qingjin, Xiayuan, Shili, xibian, Zhongtan, Panshi and shilongkong. The township government is located in Wangjiashan, xiatan village, 4.5km away from the urban area. Fengxi flows northward along the southwest border and joins Xinjiang River. On (RAO) two (DU Guan), seven (limen) Sha (River) highway transit. Chaoyang phosphate mine is located in China.

Evolution of organizational system

It got its name from the old Chaoyang hall. He belonged to Cai's hometown in 1949 and merged into Lingxi Township in 1950. Chaoyang commune was established in 1958, and the township was changed in 1984. In May 1993, Shangrao County was transferred to Shangrao City. In 1997, it covers an area of 67 square kilometers and has a population of 32000. It has jurisdiction over 16 administrative villages, including Chaoyang, Guangming, Qingshi, Tuanjie, mountaintop, Wangcun, Wangjia, Xiyuan, Qingjin, Xiayuan, Shili, xibian, Shishan, Zhongtan, xiatan and Panshi. The township government is stationed in Zhongtan.
