Xinguan Township
Cangxi County governs the township. Xinguan township was set up in 1951, the commune was changed in 1958, and the township was restored in 1984. On May 7, 2020, the people's Government of Sichuan Province approved Guangyuan City to adjust the administrative divisions of some villages and towns in Cangxi County and other three counties (Chuanfu Civil Affairs [2020] No. 1): Yonghe Township and Xinguan Township were abolished, the administrative areas of the former Yonghe Township and Xinguan Township were put under the jurisdiction of Longwang Town, and the people's Government of Longwang Town was stationed at No. 11 Sanyuan street, Longwang community.
After investigation and verification, Guangyuan Municipal Bureau of civil affairs and religious affairs officially approved that the Zhonghua Temple of Xinguan township is open to fixed religious activities. This is the second Taoist cultural site in Cangxi County after Wudang Mountain. Under the direct leadership of Cangxi County Religious Bureau and the joint efforts of the local Party committee and government, the Zhonghua view of Xinguan township was officially opened as a fixed place for religious activities. This not only represents the development of Taoist culture in the local area, so that everyone has a formal and qualified place of worship and belief, but also promotes the development of local economy, and prospers and enriches the spiritual and cultural life of mountain people;
It is understood that the Zhonghua temple in Xinguan Township, covering an area of 400 square meters, was built in the Qianlong period of the Qing Dynasty. It has a history of 300 years. From ancient times, it is a must pass for merchants and pedestrians from all over the world. There are an endless stream of pilgrims who come to observe, preach, burn incense and worship Buddhism.
