Hongxing Township, belonging to Yi'an County, Qiqihar City, Heilongjiang Province, is located in the northwest of Yi'an County, adjacent to Shangyou Township in the East, Yi'an town in the south, Xianfeng Township in the West and Xintun Township in the north; the township government is 9 kilometers away from the county seat; the total administrative area is 154.07 square kilometers.

Hongxing township was renamed as Hongxing commune because of its duplicate name with Dalianhe town; in April 1984, it was renamed Hongxing township. By the end of 2018, the number of registered residence in Hongxing township was 21902. In 2019, Hongxing rural governs 9 administrative villages, and the township government is stationed in No. 1 Zhiwei of former xing'antun township.

In 2018, Hongxing Township had 4 industrial enterprises and 8 comprehensive stores or supermarkets with a business area of more than 50 square meters. On July 24, 2019, Hongxing township was selected into the list of national strong agricultural towns in 2019.

Historical evolution

Hongxing Township, formerly known as Dalianhe commune, was renamed Hongxing commune because of the same name as Dalianhe town.

During the period of the Republic of China, it was under the jurisdiction of the Sixth District of Yilan County. In 1931, after the fall of Northeast China, it was occupied by the Japanese invaders and became the key area of the Japanese immigrant pioneer group, with its headquarters and tribes. In 1945, Dalianhe district was set up.

In March 1956, Dalianhe township was set up.

In October 1958, it was changed into Dalianhe people's commune.

In 1964, the Dalianhe coal mining area and the Dalianhe brigade were set up as Dalianhe town.

In 1979, Dalianhe commune was renamed Red Star commune.

In April 1984, it was changed to Hongxing township.

By the end of 2011, Hongxing Township had nine administrative villages: Hongqi, Hongxing, Dongsheng, Jianrong, Wenhe, Zhaoxiang, Wenhua, Hefa and Huzhu.

In 2019, Hongxing Village governs nine administrative villages: Dongsheng Village, Wenhe village, Wenhua Village, Jianrong village, Hongxing Village, Zhaoxiang village, Hefa village, Hongqi village and Huzhu village, and the township government is stationed in No. 1 Zhiwei of former Xing'an village.

Hongxing township is located in hilly area, high in the West and low in the East. In the west is zhangguangcailing hilly area, and in the East is Mudanjiang alluvial plain. The terrain is flat and open, with an altitude of 115-165 meters.

Hongxing Township belongs to temperate monsoon climate, which is characterized by cold and dry climate in winter under the control of polar continental air mass; under the influence of subtropical marine air mass, precipitation is concentrated in summer, and the temperature is warm and humid; the climate is changeable in spring and autumn, with strong wind in spring and sharp cooling in autumn, and often frost.
