Daman Town, belonging to Ganzhou District, Zhangye City, Gansu Province, is located in the south of Ganzhou District, bordering Dangzhai town in the East, Anyang Township and huazhai Township in the south, Longqu Township in the West and Xiaoman town in the north. It is 16 kilometers away from Ganzhou district. Its total area is 102.65 square kilometers.
In 1958, Damian commune was established. In 1966, it was changed into Xiangyang commune. In 1970, the Damon commune was restored. In 1983, the commune was transformed into a township. In 1997, the township was set up. In 2004, Heping township was merged into Daman town. By the end of 2018, the registered residence population in the town was 31493. As of June 2020, Daman town has 21 administrative villages under its jurisdiction.
